Commitment Ceremony Agreement

Your commitment ceremony will be one of the most important events in your life.

You will receive my expertise and suggestions to help you plan your special day.

1) We will meet to plan the ceremony; usually one meeting will be sufficient.

2) We will meet to help me know both of you better so that I may know who you are:
your background, why you what to be in a commited relationship and any special concerns
you may have.

3) After our meetings, I will mail you a "script" of the ceremony (prayers, vows,
homily, blessings, etc.) for you to look at for modifications or revisions.  After I have
received the corrected script from you, I will begin hand binding your customized
ceremony book which I will use at your commitment ceremony and give you as a gift.

4) We will be in continual phone/e-mail dialogue as needed until your ceremony.

5) Depending on the circumstances, size and complexity of the commitment ceremony,
we may mutually agree to a rehearsal so everybody can familiarize themselves with what to do,
where to stand, etc. We may also rehearse the vows and other special things which you,
as a couple, will do during the ceremony.  It will be a fun time!

These ceremony arrangements will be your responsibility:

1) Because the State of  Minnesota does not legally recognize a commitment ceremony
between two persons of the same sex, there are no legal documents to procure.

2) Arranging for the wedding site and paying the rental fee.

3) Providing musical and vocal accompaniment. The three of us will plan your ceremony in
consultation with the musicians of your choice.  Musicians will be paid directly by you.

For my services listed above, I ask for an honorarium of $375 for a weekend ceremony, $290
for a weekday ceremony.
Half of the honorarium will commit me to set the date for the ceremony and is non-refundable.
The other half of the honorarium will be due one week before the ceremony date.
